EDPS 322 - ERIC (via CSA)

To limit results to K-12, scroll down the page until you see the Education Level menu. Select: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Elementary Secondary Education, Grade 1-12, High Schools, Intermediate Grades, Junior High Schools, Kindergarten, Middle Schools, Primary Education, Secondary Education. [On a Windows machine, to select multiple menu items at the same time, hold down the Ctrl-Key when you click on each menu choice. On a Macintosh machine, hold down the Apple-key when you click on each menu choice.]

To limit results to research based materials, scroll down the page until you see Publication Type, click Browse Publication Type, place a check next to 143 reports: research and cilck the green Add to Search button.

To limit results to the last five years, scroll down the page until you see Date Range and change the first date from Earliest to 2005.

To eliminate many (but not all) the items that focus on students outside the United States: 1) on the first search line following the search line(s) where you entered your variable terms, change the drop-down menu at the start of the line from and to not; 2)type in the first search box the phrase foreign countries; 3) change the drop-down menu at the end of the line from Keywords, KW= to Descriptors, DE=.

Suggested subject headings (change the drop-down menu at the end of the line from Keywords, KW= to Descriptors, DE=). Include multiple descriptors in the same search box by typing the word or between each descriptor/phrase, e.g., bilingual education or bilingual schools or bilingual students or bilingualism
